Recent publications

My main research field lies in the applications of Mathematics to Solid Mechanics. I am especially interested in nonconvex vectorial problems in Calculus of Variations arising in nonlinear elasticity theory. I also work on related free discontinuity problems such as fracture and cavitation in solids. Part of my research focuses in the modelling of non-self-penetration of matter and the constraint of injectivity. I also study nonlocal models in Mechanics. Applications include the study of smart materials and the analysis of inequality in populations.

Past research includes the study of algebraic multiplicities for families of Fredholm operators, and their applications to Bifurcation Theory.
