EMBEDDINGS BETWEEN SYMMETRIC THOMPSON`S GROUPS

Resumen: In this talk we give a brief introduction to Higman-Thompson`s groups Vn, a family of subgroups of the group of homeomorphisms of the Cantor set. Next, we will explore embeddings between these groups using a specific representation of the elements of Vn given by tables. In particular, we will see that there are two different types of embeddings: topological and algebraic ones, studied by Higman and Birget respectively. Next, we will introduce a larger class of subgroups of the homeomorphism group of the Cantor set, the family of symmetric Thompson`s groups. We will explain how to adapt the previous embeddings to this setting using tables. This is a joint work with Collin Bleak.
